ADMITTANCE TO THE HIFE REGISTRY
The Certified
Financial Educator designation denotes competency in financial
services, as well as practical experience in teaching adult
learners. For some applicants, the designation, in and of itself,
represents a level of attainment and recognition which fulfills
their objective. For others, the prestige and value that the
designation carries will enhance new marketing opportunities or
existing relationships which already exist. For a few, gaining the
designation represents an even greater possibility, since the
potential of being admitted to the Registry of Certified Financial
Educators represents a relationship in which members become
sponsored by the HIFE Consortium of Colleges and Universities to
teach college approved financial wellness courses to the employees
of businesses. This means that these chosen individuals, admitted
to the HIFE Registry will actually be asked and required to meet
with human resource professionals to arrange college course
opportunities for their adult learners/employees.
All registry
members are required to attend three days of training in Denver,
Colorado in order to offer these classes to businesses and their
respective employees. Registry members are selected based upon
background, experience and written recommendations. A minimum
number of employees/adult learners are required to be taught each
year, in order for a CFEd to
maintain Registry status. This is especially important, since after
many years of offering these courses, records indicate that over 80%
of adult learner attendees will ask to meet with the CFEd instructor
for a personal question and answer period. A CFEd who is admitted to the Registry is
required to pay a licensing fee, as well as an annual renewal fee.
Each member of the Registry is listed as a Registry member on the
HIFE web-site and included in the HIFE national marketing
cooperative.
